....emptiness crept into my soul as i watched the averted eyes all around me....a concrete bench.....home to this humble man dressed in yesterday's news, who shook off the brisk night air and touched my heart as we ate donuts, made small conversation and added life to both of our hearts....
painting upside down lets me tap into the true pathos and real life drama of a person's soul........self taught, i begin my process with my love for travel that inspires all my artistic mediums. seeking subjects from different parts of the world, each person reveals a story that lies vacant and is ready to be shared and uncovered. each memory created lives inside me as i develop my photographic image in my studio and begin the journey inverting the photo next to my easel to paint upside down. wild brushstrokes begin with a rapid liberation of freedom.......and then, at the "finis" my canvas is turned and the abstraction and truth is revealed............ jacqueline wolf
